Harry Potter Land

BEST PLACE EVER!
That pretty much sums up my Universal Adventure Land experience.  The Harry Potter section is AMAZING.  If you like Harry Potter at all- you will love it.  Breanna, my student who went with me, and I ran straight to that section.  The british workers have great costumes, everyone is in character, the rides are great, and the broom simulation ride in Hogwarts is crazy fun.

We had a wonderful time in Orlando, Florida....so glad Bre got to compete at the National level for FCCLA!  The conference was a lot of fun and it was really cool meeting so many other kids and advisors from different states.  It was also interesting getting mistaken for a student about 30 times... I even had two boys ask to be Facebook friends with me- until I told them I was a teacher.  Then awesome awkwardness followed.  I had fun with it.  I will show more pictures from Disney World later!

This picture was after a VERY long day and a VERY wet ride.

Kendi + Lana = BFF

We met, and I am glad to announce that we are best friends now.  Kendi Everyday is a blog I follow, and have talked about before...numerous times.  I enjoy her posts because she is really witty, and started the 30 for 30..which is fun.  She now has her own store in the historical district of McKinney (which is super cute), called Bloom.  Carli and I went there after a quick trip to IKEA of course:)  She was very sweet, fun, outgoing, and not weirded out that I knew a little too much about her.

She told me to send pictures of my students doing the 30 for 30...gonna have to do that with my classes again!

Home Sweet Soon

So I sort of left you hanging on the house hunt...  after putting an offer on the third house, they took it.  It is actually around the corner from my apartment now in a older neighborhood.  I enjoy this area because I know it, it is 5 minutes from the school I teach at, there is an awesome park/trails right by me,  it is on the other side of Keller- which is closer to more family and friends, and it is sort of away from the RR tracks and the awful 377 (very congested road that I really dislike).  Because it is older there might be a few unknown things I will have to fix, but that is with every house right?  After the inspection...aka pointing out everything that could possibly wrong about my house... I felt a little...no a lot... stressed, but after a foundation specialist came out, he said it looked great (which made me feel more at ease about my decision).  Lord willing, I will close Aug. 3rd!  I have been so thankful for so many people offering to help- boy am I surround by the best people:)  Here are a few pictures... I wonder what I will do with it... oh the possiblities in being in my OWN home:)

Lots of things I want to do...but I will have to save up!  I like the big tree:)

Where should I put my tv?  Just thought of this...  I like the flooring- the previous owner did a great job with updates.  Paint Fireplace white? Leave mantel brown...  Not my furniture in the picture.

Only ceiling fan in the house- yikes! Washer and dryer is in the dining room door way.  Not sure how long I can handle all the beige walls.

I did not LOVE the stain done on the cabinets...but it is kind of growing on me.

My bedroom.. then you enter the master bath by the window.  There are two other bedrooms, but they look exactly the same as this one- just smaller... the closets are all good sizes.  Sort of want to paint the trim white.

Guest Bathroom- I like it:)

Mast bathroom... which sink will I use...I might trade out- or just use one that way I do not have to clean so much.

The backyard.  There is a shed, which I will put one box in I guess.  And a little patio for entertaining:)  Must get a hammock.

Anyone want to come to my fun painting party??? :)

California Lovin

Yes... It has been FOREVER.  I have lots of things going on right now- like buying a house, traveling, nannying... and now packing!  Here are a few pictures from my 10 day vacation to my home away from home- in sunny- amazing weather- Sacramento, California.

Thanks goes out to my friend Alisha who always keeps me entertained and happy.  I miss my best friend so much, but enjoy every moment we get together.  We had lots of fun discovering new towns, taking photos in freezing water, not going to dog parks, eating lots of fruit, shopping, eating with a retirement group, dressing like waiters, dodging things, baseball, and being with family!

I loveee my Sacramento Family!
