My FAVORITE Dallas Spots

Over the past few years I have gotten into the routine of hitting a few spots in Dallas.  Some of my closest friends have helped me find these places and so they are very special to me for that reason!  Saturday I took a day to myself and hit most of the places- which always puts me in a good mood.  I sort of love shopping by myself... or with someone who separates from me and then rejoins me later.  Haha- I am a loner.  So if you ever come to Dallas then go to these vintage hot-spots and you will feel like you are shopping and eating with me:)  OR just call me and we can for real eat and shop together.  Most of these places are thrift/vintage/antiqueish type.  They are all full of random things, which always makes things more fun!  I included information and websites for each place in case you want to check them out.... you are welcome- my secret places are longer a secret.  P.S. most of these places are hit and miss... don't give up on the prize.  Oh and I put these in this order on purpose.  This route is well thought out- I have done this many times.

Day 30: Finish Line

Hooray!!! I did it, I did it:) I am so glad that today is the last day… don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it…but I was just about to go crazy! Kendi- you have a lot of discipline doing the 30 for 30 so many times. Side Note: I cannot wait to meet to meet her. She has a new store in McKinney called Bloom (Natalie and Jenn got to meet her already). I hear that the store is amazing, and that she is precious. Natalie and Jenn told her about my students doing the remix and she said that gave her Goosebumps. She also agreed to speak to my students- which I am really excited about! When I told my students they were beyond excited- we all think Kendi is a celebrity… even though she is just a witty girl with a blog and a cool fashion background.

*A few good things that came out of this remix challenge….

1.) I had to become more creative with my clothes.
2.) I realize that I do not need so many clothes!
3.) I now realize the angles that I need to be in to take a good picture- haha.

*Now that I have actually stuck with something for 30 days, I made a few more goals to stick with:

1.) I will go through my clothes and get rid of 30 items.
2.) Starting tomorrow I will not get on the Internet to look at social media sites (facebook, blogspot, and pinterest) for 30 hours straight. (Yes, it is pathetic that I think that 30 hours is a long time.)
3.) I will only watch 30 minutes a day of T.V. /Netflix/ Movies for the next week- starting today.

*I NEED to spend more time reading scriptures, praying, visiting people, encouraging others, getting crafty, reading a book … So I hope that taking myself away from all of these distractions will help me focus on more important things.

WHAT GOALS WOULD YOU MAKE FOR YOURSELF?

Day 29: Stay Classy

I thought I could go a bit classy today. Having a black skirt and pants in the mix are really life savers. I forgot that I had not worn this shirt except once, so I pulled this baby out! Have a good day:) I have to put in grades now.... FUN!

Day 28: Audrey Hepburn??

This was taken by a dumpster...and I like it!  This shirt is one of my favs (it is blue and white pinstriped... the classic boyfriend shirt).  I think I will always love this preppy/classy/Audrey Hepburn style.  Does not matter how old you are, because it looks good on everyone.  Thank you Audrey!

Shirt: Forever 21/ Pants: Gap/ Shoes: Target/ Super cool Shades: Stole from Alisha... on accident

Day 27: Rainy Day

Well here is an inside shot for ya... it was raining all day Sunday in Oklahoma- thus the room pic.  I love when it rains, but only if I have my rain boots... yes, I am high maintenance.  These leopard shoes were no bueno today in the puddles... lets just say I was doing anything to stay out of them.  I made the awful decision of driving home this morning- leaving at 4:00 a.m.  I have never fought a battle so hard... my eyes almost won.  Thank you Lord for watching over me...needed it this morning!

Shirt: Old Navy/ Skirt: J. Crew Outlet/ Shoes: Steve Madden

Day 26: Princess Power

Saturday was a busy day in Oklahoma City. I went to a baby shower for a wonderful cousin, friend, and person- Andrea. She is having another little girl! Avery, her 3 year old daughter, had a princess birthday party that same day. 3 is a fun year, because they are so excited about their presents. As you can tell...she is very into the princess thing...so precious!

Day 24: Why No....

Why no this is not a shirt over a dress. You caught me, that is exactly what it is... it was easy and worked alright I think. Once again it is something I would not normally do, but I do not hate it:)

Day 23: Mirror Alley

Lana coming to you from Mirror Alley here at CHS. The band this year is using 1 billion huge mirrors in their show. They do such a great job, but I must say the mirrors add lots of entertainment. It is hilarious to hear the crowds when the mirrors go on the field and blind everyone in the stands. Not sure how much they thought that one through...
I like my fallish outfit today! It consists of everything I love...tights, boots, dress, and blazer! Although I am wearing about 5 layers, I feel good!

Day 22: Black Blob

I have learned a few things about myself... 1.)I cannot do a real smile for the camera- ever. 2.) I have very sensitive squint eyes... today killed me. 3.) I look like a black blog

Oh look Natalie capture a real smile...1st one captured in 15 days! My sleeves were a-blowing today.

I figured I would just look better with my eyes covered. Turned out well I think.

Corny Fake Lana- Here I am!
P.S. Tomorrow I will not be negative, squint face, Nancy.

Day 21: Tights and Rubber Bands

Today I pulled out the tights, and the rubber bands (hold on and I will explain). I wore this black baby doll dress a few Sundays ago, so I thought I would bust it out again. It was originally long sleeves (look here), but to make it look different I rolled up the sleeves under my shirt and actually used rubber bands to not make them slide down- haha. I never thought I would be doing this, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

Day 20: Traveling Clothes...

It is never fun traveling in Sunday Clothes, but this outfit was comfortable! My Mom stayed at my apartment this weekend without me, because she had a wedding to go to...and of course I came back to my plants watered, shelves organized, and things all clean:) Gotta love Mom's!
