Annoyed Faces and Fruit Pizza

So... I forgot to get someone to take my picture at church, and I had to take it myself, once again. Want to know what I look like when I am annoyed... look below, through the blurry image.

Day 21
Shirt: Milk and Honey/ Skirt: Buffalo Exchange/ Necklace: Thrifted/ Tights: Forever 21 (yes they are tights not my white legs)/Boots: Thrifted

I made Fruit Pizza today for Potluck at Church... It is my favorite dessert and I love it so so so much- so does everyone else.  It is very easy!  You can look it up online and get the recipe.  I just add cream cheese, sugar, vanilla (icing part).  Fruit (I usually like to add rasberries and Kiwi as well), and Sugar Cookie (2 refrigerated packages)  for the bottom!

I went out to Dallas with a few friends... we ate at La Duni of course.  LOVE that place!  I have some pretty swell friends!  Timo was trying to figure out the camera...haha.  It was super dark in the restaurant, and he was messing with the different settings.  For some reason, I like the ones of us stuffing our faces with tortilla chips.  I am sure Tiffany will too:)

20 and Plenty!

So I have a busy day lined up, pretty much normal for my weekends. First of all... say hi to my curlers. I love them, and they work awesome in my hair! I also have a few products that I always use when curling my hair. Sometimes I like to see what brands work in other peoples hair...so here are my products that I love! I have long, somewhat thin, shiny hair...if that helps ya! Oh and I am in my curlers, because right after this I have to make some cucumber sandwiches and get into my Alice costume... I will show you how it turns out!

Hair Products I use:

Kenra: Hair Spray- it is awesome and does not leave your hair crunchy stiff.
Pantene Curly Spray Gel- I spray this on the peices I am curling- dont go crazy though.  I also use this to make my hair wavy.  Right after I get out of the shower I spray it all over, and immediatly put my hair in a wad on the top of my head... it works for me!
Suave Max Hold:  At the ends of my hair when curling.

Remington Curlers- LOVE them!  Easy to travel with, and just enough for me.  I think you can get these at Walmart or Target.

Day 20

Cardigan: Urban Outfitters/ Black Shirt: Old Navy/ Jeans: Forever 21/ Belt: Anthropologie
Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of yourself on timer??? Well this is the first and last time I do it... I felt really silly too. Oh well.
Here it is....Days 1-20

Day 19... Almost there!

So this weekend, I am dressing up as Alice for a Alice and Wonderland baby shower- I am excited...I LOVED that movie when I was young. I am going to be "modern day Alice." Then I am going to eat with Byron before he leaves for California (in a few weeks)...I am losing WAY too many friends to that state! California and I have a love hate relationship right now. I like this outfit... I wish I could have worn my leopard flats, but they were not in the 30 :(

DAY 19

Shirt: Old Navy/ Blazer: Urban Outfitters/ Pants: Forever 21/ Boots: Thrifted

Model Pose... no I did not know my hair looks like a bow, but I do now.

Meg and the Inspiration I get from Others...

I have a friend that I have known since 2nd grade...or 1st... been so long. Her name is Megan, and I am kind of a fan. She is one of those friends who you never have to impress, never have to worry about her being made at you, if you do not talk for 5 months, it is still the same... a no drama girl- which is my kind of gal! She probably has the biggest, unselfish heart of anyone I know. Megan and her family have always been there for me, encouraged me, loved me, and took me in as one of their own. Megan has always had a heart for mission work and working with kids in orphanages across the world. She is a nurse and just recently got her nurse practitioner license and is now going for her PHD- to teach nursing. She spends her time working on her PHD and working at a community low income clinic in Dallas (which is something she would do:)). She is also one of the most humble people I know, and would hate to know that I am bragging about her... but I just wanted the 3 people that follow me to know where I have gotten most of my inspiration and love for foreign work from. Every time I am around Meg, I feel inspired. OK... now that I got that off my chest I will explain what is on my chest, the scarf. Megan brought me back this handmade scarf from Ethiopia, Africa. She had the opportunity to go on a medical trip and then got to go to a Mother Tearsa Clinic or orphanage (cannot remember) and bought me this scarf. It was handmade by people staying at the clinic. I loveeeee loveee loveee stuff like this, especially when it helps give money to those in need. ANYWAYS I love my Meg and the way she serves others! I hope you have people like that in your life that make you want to use your talents and serve others. If you surround yourself with those, your life will fill full.  Thank you if you are in my life and inspire me...I could write about someone different every day- I might just start doing that:)

Off

Today I feel really tribal. Ever since I went to Africa I am ALWAYS attracted to prints like my skirt. I am feeling somewhat off today. Maybe it is because my TBFF's are not here today. Maybe it is because I heard some sad news.... I do not know really what it is but just so glad that I can lean on God's promises during days like this. Then I remember all my blessings.. little things like a suprise call from a friend, nice parent emails, valentine cards from my parents, a cute little apartment to go home to, my health, all the opportunities I have been given, my students who make me smile daily, my DC church family... I am Loved and it is a good feeling.

Day 17

These are so lovely to look at...@ my humble school desk.

Red Lipstick Tutorial!

You all know my fear of red lipstick... well I found this tutorial on http://thebeautydepartment.com/.  I find it very helpful... maybe you will too!

TOOLS:

-toothbrush or disposable mascara wand, lip balm, nude lip liner, red lipstick (our favorites are Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil in Pomegranate and NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio), eye shadow blending brush, translucent loose powder, lip brush

1) Using a toothbrush or disposable mascara wand + lip balm, remove any dead skin by gently scrubbing in circular motions. **This is crucial especially when wearing a matte finish!
2) Outline the perimeter with a nude liner to prevent feathering.
3) Apply red lipstick directly from the tube.
4) Using an eyeshadow blending brush + translucent loose powder, powder your lips to really set the color.
5) Apply a second coat with a lip brush to smooth edges + perfect lines.

I did not write this... but I thought I would pass it on from http://thebeautydepartment.com:)

Happy Heart Day!

This little color combo is somewhat CRAZY. Not really sure what I was thinking this morning... Oh well:) Tonight I planned a parent meeting with my Ready, Set, Teach incoming students... I guess that is what single teachers do- haha (forgot that Feb 14th was a big day!)  I bet that 2 parents will be here tonight... must look at calendars before planning big meetings.
